Orange Grove Kitchens

This month The Sentinella caught up with Mark from Orange Grove Kitchens.

Kami:Tell us about Orange Grove Kitchens?
Mark:Orange Grove Carpentry Services has been going for about four years now. Recently I’ve been making more and more kitchens and I’d forgotten just how much I enjoy making them…hence the new advert.

Kami:What makes you different?
Mark:Well I’m not a high street shop or showroom. I do almost everything myself, from design to completion. It´s nice to wander around a showroom and get a 3D autocad drawing, but all this adds to your cost.

Kami:Talk us through getting a quote.
Mark:I come to your house, discuss exactly what you want from your kitchen, then I do a freehand drawing, we look through the brochures, the client chooses their colour/ style. Finally, the appliances and worktops are chosen. I then provide a quote with all this information. A day is then arranged to visit my supplier where the client can confirm their choices.

Kami:Can you beat any high street quote?
Mark:Truth be told I’m not sure. It’s not a promise as you never know what deals other companies are offering, but what I do promise is that I’ll do my best. I will not work from other companies drawings because in think its unethical”

Kami:Ok Mark, last question. How long does a kitchen take to complete?
Mark:Generally there’s a three week lead in time to get the doors and panels made. I like to start on a Monday and I try to have it completed within a week. I work on Sundays if I have to, to ensure the client comes first as no one wants to be without a kitchen for more than a week.

Dog Found

DENZIL:

Denzil was found tied up in an abandoned cortijo, unable to walk and
was dragging himself across the floor. His owners had left him there as they did not want to take him to the Vets. After a difficult rescue and 3 days at the Vets he his now fully recovered and walking again.

He is an German Shepherd Mix and is about 10-12 years old, and will need to take tablets for his joints for most of his life.

He desperately needs a loving home to go to to spend his Twilight years. He is a very loving dog seeing what he has been through and is happy to stay/sleep outside. He has been neutered and will be given his injections and microchip as soon as a home can be found.

From the Ed…

Finally I can announce that The Sentinella’s new website is officially launched; online and ready for you to take a look!

The new design is cleaner and clearer and content is now updated at least twice a week, so there’s always something new and interesting to read.

You’ll find a comprehensive list of all the services we offer, plus our range of advertising options, including in the magazine(s), on our newsletter and on the websites.

You’ll also be able to read up on The Sentinella Business Opportunity, now with four different entry levels starting from just 4,500GBP. Remember there’s still the chance to join The Sentinella family and launch the little mag in the regions of Granada, Gibraltar, Cadiz, Almeria and Murcia, plus further flung destinations practically anywhere in the world (within reason)!
New features will appear on the website within the months ahead, including The Sentinella Shop, Business Directory and more. Keep your eyes peeled and do remember to sign up for our monthly newsletter, via the ‘submit’ box on www.thesentinella.com. You can also access all The Sentinella sub-sites from our main home page and you’ll soon be able to flick through each of the latest editions online – including Axarquia, Costa West, Costa Tropical and Malaga.

We are actively looking for articles and features to add to our website, so if you have any ideas, or if you are holding any special events, etc, please email us with the details.

Due to the launch we are now accepting web advertisements on the new site, which range from 200€-500€ for a six month period. For an exact quote email sales@thesentinella.com stating the page and site which you would like to advertise on.

As I write this month’s editorial the rain is intermingled with strong gusts of wind, and the outlook is one of total gloom. I feel like opening the door and screaming at it: “Rain, rain, go away and don’t come back until I say!”

I suspect I’m not alone in wishing for the first glimmers of spring sun and that milestone beach day, when we can start to re-boost our flagging tans.

Let’s all pray that the April editorial will be drenched in sun-dipped kisses and spring-time hugs…

Keidi Keating x
Editor (of the original little mag)!
